The immensely talented and rebellious Soviet ballet superstar, Leontiev, is the white raven with confidence, desire, and ambition, who navigates between genders with ease. The film juxtaposes his experiences from being born on the Siberian railway to seeking refuge in the West during his performances in Paris. Under the mentorship of Pushkin, he becomes the world's foremost male ballet star. Ralph Fiennes (The Invisible Man, 38th) stars and also directs, with rising ballet star Oleg Ivanov debuting alongside "ballet bad boy" Sergei Polunin, paying tribute to the immortal male ballet gods through a new generation's brilliance.
