Shu Qi (played by Chapman To) and Xiang Xiang (played by Kay Tse) are both hopeless gamblers. They meet in Macau when they both incur huge debts from high-interest loans while gambling, and their initial dislike for each other turns into love. After returning to Hong Kong, they decide to get married. After marriage, both of their careers take off. Shu Qi enters the film industry and becomes the male lead due to the favor of investor Michelle (played by Hu Ran). Xiang Xiang is hired for a high salary by casino owner Sam (played by Ng Yat Lung) because of her exceptional gambling skills to deal with cheaters.
