Annie (played by Rose Byrne) has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Duncan (played by Chris O'Dowd) for many years, and their bond has always been strong. Duncan is a music enthusiast, especially fond of a singer named Tucker (played by Ethan Hawke). Unexpectedly, one day Tucker sends him a music demo titled "Naked Juliet." Duncan loves the demo, but Annie finds it unbearable and as unpleasant as noise. He writes her a letter, and thus, the two begin to communicate back and forth through letters. As time goes by, they find their emotional distance gradually closing without even realizing it.
