Wang Xi (played by Feng Gong) is the foreman of a textile factory in Tianjin. Despite this small position, he somehow gives off the impression of being a big leader. However, he is not corrupt; rather, he holds himself to high standards and strict requirements. Moreover, with over 200 subordinates, most of whom are women, he must showcase real skills to command respect. Wang Xi is strict not only with himself but also with his family. His wife, Zhang Yun (played by Wang Lan), who works at a tofu factory, always saves the broken bottles of soy sauce for him whenever their unit distributes benefits. Their son, Wang Xiaoqiang (played by Zhang Naiwen), is well-versed in his father's principles of governance and conduct. Wang Xi often says, "If we don’t treat ourselves as officials, no one will treat us as officials!"
