Due to his wife's infidelity, Ted (played by Anthony Hopkins) calmly shoots her, initiating his perfect murder plan. When the police arrive at the scene, Officer Rob discovers that Ted's wife is actually his lover, Jennifer. Severely injured but not yet dead, Jennifer becomes a vegetable, and surprisingly, Ted readily confesses to his crime.
