On New Year's Eve in Liu Family Village, widow Zhang Caixia (played by Yuan Jiamin) and her mother-in-law Li Yuemei mysteriously disappeared. After reporting to the police, an investigation identified three suspects: Liu Dongmin (played by Chen Baoyuan), the head of the village's quarry; Liu Fang (played by Baduo), an unemployed drifter; and Liu Shanpao (played by Sang Ping), a demolitions expert at the quarry, but all three vehemently denied involvement.
