Eight-year-old Ida and her parents live a comfortable life in the city. However, when her father refuses to interact with the Nazi army invading Czechoslovakia, the whole family is forced to move to her father's countryside hometown. For adults, World War II means suffering and death, while for Ida and her friends, the war seems far away. As the army invades the village, Ida's family gathers the courage to face the war, intertwining the worlds of adults and children.
