Former CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) enjoys a peaceful retirement away from the battlefield, relishing his time with Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker). One day, he unexpectedly witnesses the brutal death of his old partner Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), and soon finds himself the next target. The chaos originates from a Cold War-era project called "Nightshade," as the U.S. government seeks to eliminate anyone who knows about it, including Frank and Marvin. After being brought back to life, Marvin rescues the trapped Frank, and the two, along with Sarah, embark on a dangerous escape while searching for key figures involved in the Nightshade project. Meanwhile, Victoria (Helen Mirren) is ordered by British intelligence to hunt down Frank and his companions, while world-class assassin Han Cho-bae (Lee Byung-hun), who has past ties with Frank, is also dispatched by the U.S. government to follow them. The long-awaited battle resumes... This film is adapted from the comic book by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner.
