This film is a large-scale musical piece reflecting the journey of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army under the guidance of Comrade Mao Zedong, as they successfully completed the 25,000-mile Long March and reached Shaanxi Province. The entire film consists of ten parts: "Farewell," "Breaking Through the Blockade," "The Glory of the Zunyi Conference," "The Four Crossings of the Red River," "Flying Over the Dadu River," "Crossing Snowy Mountains and Grasslands," "Arrival at Wuqizhen," "Celebration," "Good News," and "The Great Assembly." ============================================================================ Time flies, and years leave marks. In a corner of your heart, are there some unforgettable treasures? Perhaps a feeling, a longing, or a melody… In that era that revered heroes and was full of passion, excellent works of art such as "Sister Jiang," "Honghu Red Guards," "Long March Song Suite," "The East is Red," and "Yellow River Cantata" captivated countless hearts with their earth-shattering vigor and moving sentiments. The "Long March Song Suite" was created and performed by the Beijing Comrades Dance and Song Troupe, and it was set to music by Cheng Geng, Sheng Mao, Tang He, and Yu Qiu based on the group of poems written by Xiao Hua. Tang Jiang served as the conductor, with famous singers such as Ma Yutao, Jia Shijun, Ma Guoguang, and Geng Lianfeng as soloists. The Red Army's 25,000-mile Long March is a historically significant event that shocked both China and the world. As a participant in the Long March, Xiao Hua has deep feelings about this. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Long March victory, he wrote while suffering from illness, taking over six months to complete twelve long-conceived poems. These poems are vivid in imagery, sincere in emotion, rigorous in form, and rhythmically compelling. The composer selected ten of these poems to create the song suite, seamlessly intertwining ten different battle life scenes, harmoniously blending regional folk tunes with the melodies of Red Army traditional songs, and cleverly weaving popular musical language with rich musical concepts, thus vividly depicting the grand panorama of the magnificent Long March, showcasing the heroic spirit of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and shaping the glorious image of the revolutionary army, making the suite a large vocal composition with distinct themes, rich content, innovative forms, and unique style.
