Bai Tianyu (played by Chen Xunqi), the leader of the Divine Blade Sect, unexpectedly meets a tragic death at the Plum Blossom Monastery in the border town. Twenty years pass in the blink of an eye, and Bai Tianyu's son, Fu Hongxue (played by Di Long), grows up to master impressive martial arts skills, vowing to avenge his father. He sets off to the border town in search of the truth. Ye Kai (played by Chen Xunqi) is the son of Bai Tianyu and Hua Baifeng, who unexpectedly encounters Fu Hongxue, and the two travel together. Ye Kai falls in love with Ma Fangling (played by Yuan Jieying), the daughter of Ma Kongqun, the head of the Wanma Hall; however, Ma Fangling has eyes only for the silent Fu Hongxue, leading the three into a complex love triangle. In the end, both discover that the one responsible for Bai Tianyu's death is actually his trusted friend Ma Kongqun. Enraged, Fu Hongxue attempts to kill Ma Kongqun but is stopped by Ye Kai.
