The night flights are named red-eye flights because most passengers stay up so late that their eyes are bloodshot. Lisa, a senior executive at the Lux Atlantic Hotel (played by Rachel McAdams), has to take her least favorite red-eye flight today because she needs to return to work at the hotel tomorrow after attending her grandmother's funeral. Lisa is lucky to meet the handsome Jackson (played by Cillian Murphy) at the airport, and they have a great conversation over two days. To Lisa's surprise, they are on the same red-eye flight and sit next to each other. Just when she thinks a beautiful relationship is beginning, Lisa never expects the originally polite Jackson to reveal his sinister nature. It turns out Jackson is a member of a terrorist group, and he is heading to assassinate a high-ranking official in the security department staying at the Lux Atlantic Hotel. Now, the terrorists have kidnapped Lisa's father and demand that Lisa, as the hotel manager, assist Jackson in completing this assassination mission. Under the threat of the terrorists, where will Lisa go?
