Many years ago, in a remote place in China, a blind boy followed his master to learn the piano. His master told him that there was a prescription that could cure his eyes and allow him to see again, but this prescription could only be retrieved from the piano case after he had broken a thousand strings, otherwise it would be of no use. After his master died, the blind boy broke string after string, ignoring everything else in life. Through the passage of time, the young boy became an old piano master, respected by the villagers as "Shen Shen" (played by Liu Zhongyuan).
