Overweight girl Julia (Alyson Hannigan) has long been neglected by Cupid, and she seems destined to spend her life as a waitress in her family's restaurant. Her quirky family, which includes a Greek Black father, an Indian mother, and a Japanese sister, doesn't support Julia's chances of marriage. However, a handsome customer named Grant (Adam Campbell) reignites Julia's passion. Julia finds a magical dwarf matchmaker who helps her transform into a lovely lady, and with the aid of a television dating show, she successfully connects with Grant. Their relationship progresses quickly, and soon they are meeting each other's parents and discussing marriage.
