Luther (Clint Eastwood) is a skilled thief who, after a well-thought-out plan, sets his sights on the mansion of billionaire Walter Sullivan (E.G. Marshall). While the Sullivans are on vacation, Luther breaks into the house. Just as he prepares for his big heist, he sees through a one-way mirror Walter's wife, Kristy (Melora Hardin), entwined with a man who turns out to be none other than the current president, Alan (Gene Hackman). What Luther doesn't expect is that the passionate encounter quickly turns into a bloody murder as he watches Alan kill Kristy, making him the prime suspect in the murder.
