Anton arrives in the small town of Laciota in southern France to participate in a summer screenwriting workshop, where they will write a crime thriller with the help of renowned writer Olivia. Throughout the process, everyone is required to recall and feel the town's industrial history. In this multi-ethnic team, the intelligent and outspoken Anton often makes controversial remarks, leading to conflicts with other participants and feeling out of place; Olivia is forced to expel him from the workshop. Olivia is both Alert and fascinated by Anton's violent tendencies. How will she confront this collapsing collective creation and face herself? The film, set in a suspenseful atmosphere, with back-and-forth debates and escalating conflicts, brilliantly reflects the perspectives and dilemmas faced by contemporary French youth in this complex society. The film is selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. Lauren Cantet collaborates again with Robin Campillo, the director of "120 Beats Per Minute," to write the screenplay, casting non-professional actors with different backgrounds at the filming location, injecting each actor's personality into their roles and capturing their performances in a realistic manner with multiple cameras.
