To achieve their common goal of assassinating the German ambassador, they must pose as a married couple. At first, the vastly different personalities of Max and Marianne lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. However, as time passes and they go through life-and-death situations where they save each other, their act slowly turns into genuine love. Ultimately, the mission is successfully completed, and the lovers get married and have a child.
