Princess Yuan Yuan (played by Miriam Yeung) is the long-awaited daughter of the emperor, but she has a natural and extremely unpleasant body odor that many imperial physicians cannot solve. Since childhood, no one has been willing to be around the princess. As she reaches marriageable age, the emperor announces that whoever can successfully cure the princess's condition will be allowed to marry her. Shen Mengxi (played by Richie Jen) is a poor flower gardener who competes with other renowned doctors, but the chief physician (played by Eric Tsang) makes things difficult for Mengxi and uses underhanded tactics to ensure his apprentice wins. He allows Mengxi to continue researching new medicine to help the princess. He accidentally encounters a fishmonger girl, Han Xiang (played by Miriam Yeung), who has the same odor, and she is willing to help him with experiments. After multiple failures, the two embark on a journey to find fragrant flowers, deepening their feelings for each other. As the deadline approaches, Mengxi arrives at the palace, only to discover that the princess is the girl he knows best.
