Everyone knows that Joanna (Goldie Hawn) is a wealthy woman, and it's equally well-known that she has a sharp and nasty temper. Every day, Joanna spends time on their extremely luxurious yacht with her husband Grant (Edward Herrmann), wasting time and money. Dean (Kurt Russell) is a regular carpenter who, during an altercation, not only fails to receive the payment Joanna promised but is also pushed off the boat by her. A few days later, Dean sees a news story about a woman who fell overboard and has amnesia, and that woman is none other than Joanna, who had previously humiliated him. After some consideration, Dean brings the abandoned Joanna back home, so he can not only reclaim the wages she owed him but also care for his four children. Although the amnesiac Joanna is filled with doubts about her situation, she still puts in the effort to do her job, and over time, a genuine bond develops between her and Dean.
