A year ago, Sergeant Joseph Smith (played by Jason Statham) experienced unimaginable bloodshed as a member of a special forces unit on the battlefield in Afghanistan. Due to an incident, he was charged by a military court and diagnosed with acute stress disorder. Joseph then escaped from the hospital and struggled to survive among the homeless. He adopted the name Joy and teamed up with a girl named Isabel (played by Victoria Bewick). After being attacked by criminals, a panicked Joy accidentally stumbled into an unoccupied room, where the owner was away on business in the U.S. He felt free to use everything belonging to the owner.
