Hyun-soo (played by Kwon Sang-woo), once a model student, comes to a notoriously dark school and is very dissatisfied with the situation within. The teachers show great disrespect towards the students, verbally abusing them and physically assaulting them. Hyun-soo is the only student who studies there, with no other friends. However, he soon becomes good friends with a delinquent named Kim Woo-sik (played by Lee Jeong-jin), and both boys develop feelings for a girl named Kang Eun-joo (played by Han Ga-in). Hyun-soo is introverted and always shy when expressing his feelings to Eun-joo, losing out in love to Woo-sik. Shortly after, tragedy strikes Hyun-soo again as both Woo-sik and Eun-joo disappear from his life, following Woo-sik's defeat in a duel with others due to his competitive nature. These events drastically change Hyun-soo's personality; he becomes combative and diligently practices with nunchaku, hoping to help his friend defeat their enemy from the past.
