Fu Cang's father was killed by someone in a dispute when Fu Cang was very young. He became taciturn, and one day, he met a necromancer who taught him the art of curses. Chen Dong was bitten by a snake and died, prompting an investigation by the police (Zheng Haonan), who suspected it was the serpent owner, King Carlo. Fu Cang admired Ka Yu Lu, and one day he brought a bouquet of flowers to visit her at King Carlo's house, only to be beaten up by Ka Yu Lu's suitor, Li Bin.
