Somewhere in London, a fire-breathing giant dragon that had lain dormant underground for years is awakened by construction work and flies out of its cave. Over 40 years later, the dragon and its numerous offspring have taken over the Earth, nearly destroying human civilization, which now can only hide in the caves of abandoned castles, relying on crops that have not been destroyed by the fire-breathing dragons for survival. The human leader of the London area, Quinn, is an orphan whose mother died from a dragon's fire at a young age, leading the remaining humans in the area to fight against the monstrous dragons; one day, an American volunteer officer named Vance and his army come to help. Initially, Quinn refuses support from outsiders but later realizes that the Americans have suffered the same torment from the fire-breathing dragons. Thus, the two armies unite their strength, planning to eliminate the earliest escaped dragon queen and fight for the survival and hope of humanity.
