Four soon-to-be graduates, Xiao Chun, Da Long, Ai Lin, and Ha Lei, plan a hiking and camping trip to the countryside. They are enjoying the pleasures of this outing when a loud explosion in the distance shatters their rare moment of youth. Upon returning to the town, they realize that the entire world has changed. After narrowly escaping repeated pursuits by alien mechas, they arrive at the home of a former university professor. The professor explains the background of the alien invasion, and the four decide to join him in fighting against the brutal alien mechas. Meanwhile, another group of surviving humans, led by a governor, engages in fierce battles with Xiao Chun and the others over resources.
