Young Kyle (Channing Tatum) returns from the front lines in Afghanistan to work in the Congressional security department, with his ultimate dream of protecting President Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Kyle has a young daughter, Emily (Joey King), from his divorced wife, who has become a political fanatic, particularly admiring President Sawyer and the White House due to her father's military service. To make his daughter happy, Kyle promises to take her on a one-day tour inside the White House while also applying for a job in the Secret Service led by Cara (Maggie Gyllenhaal). However, on that same day, a group of unidentified armed intruders infiltrate the White House and hunt for President Sawyer, setting the stage for a bloody crisis. Can Kyle, who is with his daughter on the tour, bravely save the president? Can he protect his daughter at the same time? And what hidden, dirty secrets lie behind this motive-less violence?
