In chaotic times, when the people are suffering, the Yizheng Pavilion sends assassins to hunt down corrupt officials. Mu Qing, the most valued subordinate of the pavilion's lord, encounters the kind-hearted junior official Hang Zhiyu during an assassination mission, causing her to begin questioning her purpose in the Yizheng Pavilion.
