In the 1980s, electronic software genius Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges) founded ENCOM and ushered humanity into a new era. However, shortly after the flourishing era began, Kevin mysteriously disappeared. Following that, Kevin's young son Sam (played by Garrett Hedlund) inherited his father's position, while the actual work was handled by other staff. Sam, gifted and adventurous, often got into trouble with the ENCOM executives. One day, he discovers a long-abandoned studio that contains a message from his father. Sam goes to investigate and ends up entering a fully digital virtual world. The world’s ruler, Clu (also played by Jeff Bridges), looks just like his father but is ambitious and utterly evil. Sam is forced into a conspiracy-filled electronic battle... This film won the Best Original Score award at the 2010 Austin Film Critics Association.
