A patriotic tragic story depicting the history that occurred during the Great Patriotic War. The female protagonist, Marsha Yabutkin, is only 16 years old, filled with ambitions and goals for the future. Like everyone else, the young girl is making life plans after graduation, preparing to enter university to study and pursue her cherished profession. Unfortunately, her plans do not come to fruition, and her dreams are shattered by the harsh and ruthless reality of the impending war. Marsha is soon to grow up, and the protagonist is sent to a highly dangerous railway construction in Leningrad region, where the railway is within the range of German artillery fire. To survive, she has to endure many twists and turns of life.
