(Following the movie "2002 Teen Gambling Saint") After America's gambling king Liu Changkong was unbeatable throughout America, he intended to return to Asia for development. However, Asian gambling king Hong Zhentian, after losing to fourteen-year-old Gao Jun in a gambling king competition three months ago, withdrew from the world with his daughter and handed over his casinos to Sister Hong. The winning Gao Jun, having promised his grandmother not to gamble anymore, went into hiding and rarely made appearances. Liu Changkong couldn't find Hong Zhentian, so he first defeated Sister Hong, then found Gao Jun's master, Uncle Da, and his partner Zhou Xingxing, but Gao Jun remained elusive. To evade Liu Changkong, Zhou Xingxing had to flee. He was saved by Du Juan, who worked at a nightclub. Seeing that he resembled her deceased son, she took him in. Yi Ren is a top killer under Liu Changkong. Since accidentally killing Du Juan's son three years ago, he has felt guilty and went to work as a bouncer at the nightclub to take care of her. He also began to tire of the underworld life and at night wore a black mask to disrupt underworld activities, becoming the rumored "Black Hero." Liu Changkong discovered Yi Ren was opposing him while hiding Zhou Xingxing, captured Du Juan, and forced Yi Ren to capture Gao Jun. At this time, Gao Jun also received a rescue call from Zhou Xingxing, rushed to help, and fought a battle with Yi Ren. Gao Jun also challenged Liu Changkong to a gambling contest. Although Liu Changkong had unique powers of mind reading, Gao Jun turned this to his advantage and won the game. My Thoughts The traces of imitation in this film are obvious, but the execution is poor. The title "Black Hero vs. Gambling Saint" is a combination of Jet Li’s "Black Hero" and Stephen Chow's "Gambling Saint" series. The fatty Zhou Xingxing and "Uncle Da" imitate the old partners of Bruce Lee, Hao Shaowen and Wu Mengda. In "The Young Master," Hao Shaowen’s nickname was Stephen Chow. A five to six-year-old child dressed as a color ghost is quite cute and funny, but the fatty in this film is over ten years old and merely lewd and disgusting. Although Bruce Lee is the lead in this film, his screen time isn’t long: just a little at the beginning and the last 13 minutes, while the rest of the time is filled with that disgusting fat guy. The most compelling part is the one-minute duel between Bruce Lee and the Black Hero (Yi Ren). The actor playing the Black Hero, Shi Hongbo, has a decent physique and appears to be a good fighter. The picture below shows their starting stance (each striking a pose), notice how low and steady Bruce Lee's stance is. The person sharing equal screen time with Bruce Lee on the first poster is not the Black Hero but another killer under Liu Changkong named Cold Blood. This actor, Shi Xingyu, is quite notable, as he is also a disciple of Shaolin, like Bruce Lee, and is a real monk, unlike Bruce Lee, who is just a lay disciple. However, due to his fierce appearance, he often plays underworld characters. Bruce Lee's other TV movie "Underworld Shaolin" also features him. However, the duel between Shi Xingyu and Shi Xiaolong lacks the excitement of the duel between Bruce Lee and the Black Hero, as the action design is too poor. The action director of this film is Fung Hak On, who played Uncle Da, and he is the character Di Can in Stephen Chow's film "Kung Fu." His sister is the famous beauty Fung Bao Bao, who starred in classic works like "Xi Shi" and "Yang Guifei" in Taiwan and "Wu Zetian" in Hong Kong. Although Shi Xiaolong, Shi Xingyu, and Shi Hongbo are all capable fighters, being able to fight doesn't necessarily mean they can shoot a good action film. Lin Wei, who plays Liu Changkong, is a very experienced actor from Hong Kong with excellent acting skills (I think he is better than Xu Shaoqiang in "Teen Gambling Saint"). The above picture shows him smiling without genuine amusement before competing in gambling skills with Gao Jun. When I watched the film, I first saw the ending, where Bruce Lee sits at the gambling table to place a bet. I found it hard to accept, though this isn't Bruce Lee's first gambling film – he acted in "Street Gambling Saint" when he was six, but at that time he was just a cute child. Bruce Lee has always maintained an upright image on screen, and this time he seems to have gone astray. Show the bottom card and win. This film is a hybrid of action, comedy, and gambling genres, but none can be considered of high standard.
