The story takes place in Taiwan, China. Yuzi (played by Zhang Yanming) is lured by a large sum of money to assassinate a certain politician. Unexpectedly, a stray bullet hits police officer A-Gou's (played by Chen Enfeng) wife, Mei Ping (played by Bai Xinhui), causing their daughter, Peipei (played by Chen Shiying), to suffer severe shock and become withdrawn. A-Gou vows to capture the murderer to avenge his wife. Four suspects are mistakenly shot dead by the police, but A-Gou is convinced the real culprit is still out there. One day, Yuzi unexpectedly encounters A-Gou and discovers that they are actually from the same hometown many years ago. When A-Gou realizes that Yuzi is the true murderer, Yuzi has already fled swiftly in the water. Yuzi abducts Peipei and returns to his long-lost hometown, where his elderly father mistakes Peipei for his deceased daughter from many years ago, causing Yuzi to tear up as he watches. With his daughter kidnapped, the violent A-Gou takes Yuzi's family to rescue her, and after a moral redemption, they exchange hostages...
