In a remote small town in Xiangsi, at a brick factory. The factory director, Liu Men, specially distributed wages to everyone ahead of the autumn audit. As the brick factory became increasingly prosperous, the wages of each worker increased, leading to cheers from the crowd. At this moment, a young man with a scruffy beard and a tattered bag approached in the distance; he is Li Fu, Liu Yue's husband. Li Fu, dissatisfied with his circumstances, had left for the city two years ago to seek his fortune, only to return empty-handed. Amid the noise, Yu Xiu’s bathhouse opened, and she warmly welcomed her guests. Yu Xiu was once Li Fu’s girlfriend, but she married a wealthy city man out of disdain for Li Fu's poverty, only to find herself widowed too soon, and she returned to the small town. Li Fu, unwilling for Yu Xiu to see his disheveled state, hurriedly stepped aside, but Yu Xiu had already seen everything. When Liu Yue returned home, she joyfully threw herself into the arms of her long-missed husband, but Li Fu was dejected; while his wife had turned the brick factory into a flourishing business, he stood empty-handed, feeling very unbalanced. Li Fu was determined to open a karaoke dance hall in the small town and asked Liu Yue for money. Liu Yue couldn’t spare any, and Li Fu left angrily. Yu Xiu appreciated Li Fu's idea and generously lent him money. After several twists and turns, the dance hall finally opened. Yu Xiu often came to support it, and the two rekindled their old feelings. One late night, when Li Fu came to the bathhouse to repay the money, Yu Xiu expressed her affection, and Li Fu couldn’t help but embrace her. The whole town knew about Li Fu and Yu Xiu's romantic affair, but Liu Yue was completely unaware. The meddlesome Aunt La told Liu Yue the truth, and Liu Yue was heartbroken; she prepared a lavish banquet for what she called "the last supper" with Li Fu and then resolutely left. Meanwhile, people were dissatisfied with Yu Xiu’s actions, and her bathhouse business plummeted. A drunken Li Fu barged in to propose to Yu Xiu, but she calmly rejected him. The town's Da Shun and Chun Ying held their wedding, and the newlyweds toasted Liu Yue, who forced a smile while making excuses. Li Fu arrived, took the glass from Da Shun’s hand, and drank it in Liu Yue’s stead. Li Fu and Liu Yue gazed at each other for a long time...
