Although their relationship faces strong opposition from Susan's family, they eventually overcome numerous obstacles to enter into marriage. However, married life is not as happy as Joey expected. He works at Susan's father's company, often enduring ridicule from his boss and colleagues, leading to an unpleasant work environment. Furthermore, their vastly different values frequently result in intense arguments between the couple. When Joey discovers that his wife has taken a lover, he decides to seek the life he desires and elopes with a girl, Nora (Honor Blackman), who has feelings for him.
