Steve Russell (played by Jim Carrey) is a paid adopted child. In order to find out who his biological parents are, he becomes a police officer. However, when he arrives at his mother's doorstep, he is met with a cold rejection... Luckily, Steve has a happy family, and he and his wife have a daughter. This devout couple prays every day...
