The story takes place in a future world where A-long (played by Leon Lai) and A-qiang (played by Jacky Cheung) are special police officers capturing beasts. However, their boss (played by Yuen Woo-ping) places great importance on A-long, while being very wary of A-qiang. Unable to hold back his anger, A-qiang drowns his sorrows in a bar, finding comfort and support from his girlfriend (played by Julie Lee). However, he is always shrouded in shadows—A-qiang's mother is actually a beast, and he eventually shares this secret with A-long.
