Wang Xiaoding (played by Jia Jinghui) is a photography journalist working for a certain website. In life, Wang Xiaoding always appears carefree, showing no interest in anything; whether it's work or relationships, he has an indifferent attitude, muddling through the days. Even the deities can't stand Wang Xiaoding's current state, so they send the God of Death (played by Zhao Jun) to his side, hoping to help him rediscover the meaning of life. However, the God of Death soon realizes that Wang Xiaoding's recklessness far exceeds his expectations, and he finds himself powerless against him. The God of Death decides to revoke Wang Xiaoding's right to live and sends him to the underworld, at which point Wang Xiaoding finally realizes the seriousness of the situation. To return to the human world, Wang Xiaoding agrees to complete seven tasks for the God of Death, but these seven tasks are nearly impossible for him to accomplish.
