In the ancient Indian Maurya Dynasty, Prince Ashoka (played by Shah Rukh Khan), the son of King Bindusara, is brave and skilled in battle. Despite facing jealousy and traps set by his brothers, he continuously achieves remarkable feats, and his reputation soars. Faced with the thorny path to the throne, Ashoka initially responds calmly, not taking it seriously, but ultimately, at his mother’s (played by Shilpa Mehta) desperate pleas, he goes into hiding and leaves the palace. During his journey of self-discovery, Ashoka meets the beautiful Princess Kaurwaki (played by Kareena Kapoor). In their shared moments of despair, an extraordinary love blossoms between the two young souls. However, as a monk says, even if the sun hides behind the clouds, it is still the sun; Ashoka is destined to return to the palace and inherit the throne. For this reason, he experiences a heartbreaking separation from Kaurwaki while navigating defenses against political rivals and external enemies within the resplendent palace.
