"The Smiling Mountains" tells the story of two pairs of young people who go hiking in the countryside, get lost in the deep mountains, and discover a small cottage inhabited by a strange couple. The man has a rough appearance, while the woman is mute and seemingly senile. The man offers them shelter, and the next day, a mountain flood occurs. Everyone joins forces to repair the broken wooden bridge. The two pairs of young students not only realize the man's unwavering love but also his ability to protect his wife who suffers from dementia.
