The grand International Police Conference is about to kick off in the bustling metropolis of New York. Following his superior, Inspector Cruchot (played by Louis de Funès) and five other colleagues embark on their long journey to New York amidst blessings. The police station has strictly prohibited officers from bringing relatives on this trip, but Cruchot's daughter, Nicole (played by Geneviève Grad), cannot resist the strong allure of the big city and secretly boards the cruise ship alongside her father without informing him. Soon, Cruchot discovers his daughter's whereabouts, and in order to help her conceal her identity, he spends his days in a jittery state, causing his colleagues to mistakenly believe he has developed a psychological illness. Ultimately, after a series of frantic arrangements, Nicole manages to catch a flight home but is exposed due to a small detail.
