On a pitch-black night, three young people—A Jie (played by Dong Zijian), Xiao Bo (played by Wang Junkai), and Tong Tong (played by Dilraba Dilmurat)—stumble upon a shabby little house called "The Convenience Store of Worries." They venture inside, only to discover that time here appears to be frozen, seemingly stuck in the distant year of 1993. At that moment, a letter is pushed in from the mail slot. The writer seems to have various troubles, and unknowingly, Xiao Bo and the others take on the role of life mentors, carefully crafting a reply to the troubled individual. On the other side of the door, an introverted painter, Hao Bo (played by Qin Hao), a rock youth working in Beijing, Qin Lang (played by Li Hongqi), and a successful businesswoman, Da Qing Mei (played by Hao Lei), establish a heartfelt communication across the void with the three strangers... This film is adapted from the famous novel of the same name by Japanese mystery writer Keigo Higashino.
