The Spanish Civil War has just ended, marking a difficult period of post-war trauma. In the Catalan countryside, a boy from the defeated faction, Andrew (played by Francesc Colomer), discovers the bodies of a father and son in the woods. However, the authorities blame Andrew's father, Faluor (played by Roger Casamajor), making him an innocent scapegoat. Andrew decides to take matters into his own hands to find the real killer of the father and son and uncover the truth. As he investigates, the various conspiracies and lies of the adult world force young Andrew to confront the twisted reality around him. To survive, Andrew is compelled to betray his own race, and he gradually realizes the terrifying demon that has long lurked within him. The film "Black Bread," directed and written by the renowned Spanish director Agustín Villaronga, swept the 25th Goya Awards in 2011, winning multiple honors including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
