The film is divided into two stories, all adapted from the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Jessica (played by Adrienne Barbeau) has a terminally ill husband, Ernest (played by Bingo O'Malley). Psychiatrist Robert (played by Ramy Zada) is having an affair with Jessica. The two conspire to persuade Ernest to leave millions in inheritance to his wife. The couple ultimately gets what they want, but an angry Ernest comes back to life, seeking revenge... Photographer Rod (played by Harvey Keitel) has a girlfriend, Annabelle (played by Madeleine Potter), who brings home a stray black cat. The cat's cries become unbearable for the already agitated Rod. In a fit of rage, he kills the cat, but unknowingly steps into a dark and terrifying nightmare...
