This is a musical film woven together by 33 classic Beatles songs, telling a love story set in the 1960s, deeply influenced by anti-war protests, spiritual demands, and rock music. Jude (played by Jim Sturgess) is a shipyard worker from Liverpool who travels alone to Princeton, America, in search of his father. There, he meets Max (played by Joe Anderson), who is about to drop out of school, and his beautiful sister Lucy (played by Evan Rachel Wood). Jude and Lucy fall in love, and they travel to New York, where they meet rock singer Sadie (played by Dana Fuchs), and later, black guitarist Jojo (played by Martin Luther) and lesbian Prudence (played by T.V. Carpio). Their lives change amid the turbulent times. The names of the characters in this film are derived from classic Beatles songs.
