This movie follows directly after Episode 27 of the TV series. In Episode 27, Ryotaro and his group travel back in time to track down the Imagin, but they are unaware that they have fallen into a trap set by Boss Sa. After Ryotaro and the others defeat the Imagin and attempt to return to the Den-Liner, they find that the Den-Liner has already been hijacked by Boss Sa... The group is forced to stay in the past, and in the worst-case scenario, Ryotaro loses all memories of becoming Den-O, which prevents Momotaros from possessing Ryotaro's body. By chance, Ryotaro encounters his 10-year-old self (referred to as "Kotaro" in the show) and the Imagin Zig, and with Sakurai's help, he begins a journey to track down the Den-Liner. On the other hand, Boss Sa, who has returned to the Edo period, successfully captures the divine train Gao-Liner and catches Ryotaro who has followed him, riding the Gao-Liner back to December 26, 1988. In 1988, Ryotaro regains his memories but is unable to transform due to Boss Sa's interference. At that moment, Sakurai arrives with reinforcements, who turn out to be three different versions of Ryotaro from different times. Thus, four different forms of Den-O appear simultaneously, and the climax of the battle is about to unfold...
