The story takes place on a spring day at a Florida beach, where a motherless baby sea turtle hatches. Driven by a strong will to survive, the little turtle crawls across the perilous beach and leaps into the ocean, aiming for the Azores Islands located in Africa. The little sea turtle is extremely weak and has no means to protect itself. Along the way, it can only hide in seagrass with schools of fish to evade predators.
