David (played by Dirk Benedict) is a naive college student who is selected by snake researcher Stoner (played by Strother Martin) to be his assistant. Soon, David learns that Stoner's former assistant mysteriously disappeared. To prevent David from being bitten by snakes and getting poisoned, Stoner injects him with a mysterious serum before he starts his assistant career, which David does not doubt. Stoner has a beautiful daughter named Christina (played by Heather Menzies-Urich), and over time the two young people fall in love.
