The story takes place in 1990, when a car mechanic named John Gray (played by David Dencik) is arrested in America for allegedly molesting his daughter Angela (played by Emma Watson). Officer Bruce Kenner (played by Ethan Hawke), who is responsible for investigating the case, questions John. During the process, John initially confesses his crime but then suddenly claims amnesia. To cope with this unexpected situation, psychology professor Dr. Kenneth Raines (played by David Thewlis) also becomes involved in the investigation. They discover that John is a follower of a satanic cult, and even Bruce's partner might be involved. Bruce and Kenneth try to unlock the memories of the suspects and victims, hoping to recall the darkest past... This film is based on true events.
