The story takes place in a small town in America during the 1990s. Zack and Josh have been best friends since childhood, biking to and from school together every day, playing after school, and even developing a crush on the same girl. However, their peaceful life is shattered one afternoon. A party spirals out of control due to marijuana, and their friend Daryl bleeds to death in the classroom. The boys, panicked, vow to keep each other's secrets. Zack's simple life seems to be torn apart, overwhelmed by guilt, while Josh decides to stop going to school altogether and doesn't even step outside his house.
