The story takes place in a small town in southern Taiwan. The inn is named after its owner, Black Cat (played by Lu Yijing), who was once a famous dancer. Now, she is disheveled, overeating every day, and has completely lost her former charm. The inn houses a variety of people; Anan (played by Yu Peizhen) comes from Vietnam and only wants to earn some money to build a house back home, feeling the bitterness of working in a foreign land. Old Deng (played by Xia Jingting) has always secretly loved Black Cat, and even while in prison, he never gave up on his feelings; as soon as he is released, he rushes to the Black Cat Inn.
