The independent drama film "Barry," recounting the story of current U.S. President Barack Obama's student days, is confirmed to be produced. The film will be produced by Black Bear Pictures, the production company behind "The Imitation Game." According to U.S. media reports, "Barry" will eventually star Devon Terrell and Anya Taylor-Joy, the lead actress of the award-winning horror film "The Witch" at Sundance. Directed by Vikram Gandhi, who previously helmed the documentary films "Kumaré" and "Evil," the screenplay is penned by Adam Mansbach, author of "Go the Fuck to Sleep." Black Bear Pictures will co-produce the film with Cinetic Media. The film is expected to begin shooting this April. The story of "Barry" will focus on Obama's college years and his interpersonal relationships during his youth. This film is the second to tell the story of Obama's early life. Earlier this January, "Southside with You," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, narrated the love story between Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
