This is a small village located deep in the mountains, with a sparse population. The joyful shouts of children in the village's elementary school seem like they were just yesterday, but now, there is no longer a trace of the little angels. Aging and depopulation have made the village old and gloomy. The former principal (played by Sakamoto Nagatoshi) manages the old school building that has long been closed, holding on to it like a cherished child, while it is ultimately destined for demolition. One day, Noda (played by Nishijima Hidetoshi), who grew up in this elementary school, returns to the village. Now, he is a staff member at a museum and has come to catalog artifacts from the Jomon period that were recently unearthed at the school. Additionally, he hopes to find the time capsule he buried long ago. Where have all the happy children gone? They seem to have been taken away by Hamel's flute, leaving behind endless longing and worry for the elderly...
