After the 3.11 Fukushima nuclear power plant leak, millions of lives were completely changed. The residents, who had lived here for generations, were forced to evacuate, leaving behind their familiar lands, filled with anxiety and fear. In a temporary shelter somewhere, a family of four is crammed together. The eldest son, Soichi Sawada (played by Masaya Nakamura), refuses compensation and insists on punishing those responsible. His wife Misa (played by Sakura Ando) is forced to step out and earn a living for the family's survival. Tomiko, the mother (played by Yuko Tanaka), who has no blood relation to Soichi, feels like a burden to her son and misses her biological son Jiro (played by Kenichi Matsuyama), who is far away. Meanwhile, Jiro quietly returns to his hometown, unrestrained, and starts farming on what was once his family's land. The deep attachment to the land and the bonds of blood draw the collapsing family back together, and returning to their homeland seems to become an inevitable fate they must face...
